Byrne fit for Motegi return

Shane Byrne makes a welcome return to MotoGP action at Motegi this weekend after recovering from the effects of a dislocated wrist.

The British Superbike Champion missed the last round at Estoril in Portugal after dislocating his left wrist in a spectacular accident during practice for the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Reupbliky at Brno.

However, Byrne has had the plaster taken off the wrist and has been receiving extensive laser treatment in preparation for his first visit to Motegi on the MS Aprilia.

"The wrist has been out of plaster some time and I've been having laser treatment," said Byrne. "I went to the British Superbike round over the weekend and the physiotherapist helped me. I'm doing all I can to get fit, I should be OK and I think the wrist needs loosening up a little bit.

"Once again it's a new circuit for me but I'm getting used to that. All I can do is rack up the laps on the Playstation before we get out there and then see how it goes in first free practice on Friday morning!".
