Hodgson baffled by latest breakdown

Neil Hodgson was left tired and confused after the Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar after an eventful race which saw him join Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi at the back of the grid. A late problem with his Ducati meant that Hodsgon missed the sighting lap and had to fight through the pack, rising as high as ninth place before the technical fault returned to end his race.

"I got onto the grid late due to a technical problem and I had to start from the back of the grid," explained Hodgson. "This upset my concentration, but I got a good start and I began to pick up places. I was even in ninth spot, although I got the feeling something wasn't quite right.

"I felt that the bike was sliding a lot and I felt uncomfortable and a little unsafe, so I decided to stop and come in to the pits. It's a shame, but things didn't go right for most of the weekend and now I'm just going to think about Malaysia."
