Gibernau remains focused

Sete Gibernau says he is not getting carried away with title talk despite closing Valentino Rossi's advantage to just fourteen points at the top of the championship on Saturday. The Spaniard arrived in Malaysia this week prepared for another tough battle and says he is keen to remain focused on getting the best out of his Honda RC211V.

"The victory in Qatar was perfect for us but I don't want to get carried away, it would be wrong to start thinking that it will be easier now," commented Gibernau.

"I just want to look on it as 25 points more and try to keep my concentration because we have shown that when the pressure is on we know how to handle it, we've shown that we want to win, that I see myself as a winner and that I'm not happy with anything else.

"We've arrived in Malaysia full of confidence in our chances. When you think that a couple of days ago people were writing me off, and now they see me with a chance again, I'm not going to get carried away.

"That's what has worked for me so far and I'm not going to change now. As far as the race here in Malaysia is concerned, I know that it will be really tough, like in Qatar, but physically I'm ready to compete at the top level again."
