Gibernau admits Rossi strength

Sete Gibernau has admitted that it will be tough to prevent Valentino Rossi from lifting the MotoGP World Championship at Phillip Island on Sunday after his disastrous weekend in Malaysia. The Telefonica Movistar Honda rider finished seventh at Sepang and must hope that Rossi does not finish in the top two in Australia to have any chance of taking the title battle to Valencia.

"It is surprising that we had so many problems in Malaysia after the great result we had at Qatar but I guess that is racing," said Gibernau, who is spending a couple of days in Melbourne before making his way to Phillip Island.

"I am looking forward to getting back to top form Australia. If I went from winning one week to not having a chance the next, why can't the situation be reversed again at Phillip Island?

"After the race we stayed on with the team to analyse what had happened and we left Sepang with some answers. I want to be fighting for victory again. This is one of my favourite circuits and I know it well because, as with Sepang, we tested here in the winter. It is an ideal circuit for working on the set-up of the bike, which must be perfect at Phillip Island.

"I am sure it will be a close race because it is the type of circuit which Rossi loves, it's one of his favourites and he has always done well in Australia. I think it is one of the circuits which benefits him in particular but we'll try to be up there fighting to win again."
