MotoGP leaves Kathy Freeman breathless

Few things have left Kathy Freeman short of breath in her career, but the Olympic Champion runner admitted that even she found it hard to describe her first taste of MotoGP action at Phillip Island last weekend.

Freeman, who famously won the 400m gold medal for Australia at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, was on the grid just moments before the start of the Cinzano Australian Grand Prix and certainly seemed to be enjoying the experience.

"This is awesome... this is awesome," she said. "I mean, I can relate to the sensation of speed, power, invincibility and that sense of flying but this is something else.

"I'm having a ball, this is awesome. This is my first MotoGP so I think I'm on to something pretty good!"
