Edwards looks to sign off in style

Colin Edwards says he is going to "go for it" in the final round of the MotoGP season at Valencia this weekend, his last appearance for Honda before switching to Yamaha for 2005.

The former World Superbike Champion has not enjoyed the success he might have hoped for riding the RC211V but will be doing everything he can to score his first victory of the season and sign off in style from Fausto Gresini's Telefonica Movistar Honda squad.

"I'm just going to go for it in Valencia," says Edwards. "It's the last race of the season and you've got to give it everything. Also, I want to say goodbye to the team in the best possible way.

"I want to say thanks to Fausto Gresini and the rest of the team for the help they have given me this season. It is a fantastic team – very professional and well organised. All the boys have this massive passion for bikes and for racing and that is something that not all of the teams have.

"They've all done their bit to make me feel comfortable with them. There's been a good atmosphere from the moment I stepped in the garage for the first time and that's the way it stayed all season, even during the more difficult times."
