Last year at Valencia

Casey Stoner became the sixth debut winner of the season after an intense battle with home favourite Hector Barberá in the 125cc race at Valencia last year. Stoner dominated for much of the race and held off a last lap attack from the Spanish teenager to seal his first ever Grand Prix win after a series of second place finishes during the 2003 season.

A kamikaze last corner surge for victory from Barberá saw him run wide and gift second place to Steve Jenkner, although he hung on to third place to celebrate his 17th birthday on the podium.
