Gibernau looking for direction from HRC

Sete Gibernau says that HRC must quickly establish the direction of their development programme if they are to challenge Valentino Rossi and Yamaha for the MotoGP World Championship in 2005.

The Spanish rider stayed on at Valencia for extra tests after the final race of the season last week and expressed his belief that constant testing of parts during the year cost him his chance of winning the title this time around.

"We're just making some tests with all the parts that HRC had during the year to understand if that was the good direction or not," commented Gibernau.

"Basically we're trying to develop a strategy in order to work now on all these parts and not have to work during the year because that's what basically, I think, finished our chances of winning the championship – by trying to test many things during the year.

"Now it's time to understand what we need and what is the direction that we need to find and hopefully in the next tests we'll be able to understand basically what works better of the things we already have and what we need to improve."
