Exclusive footage of Edwards' Yamaha debut

Colin Edwards completed his first laps with the Yamaha YZR-M1 machine he will use to contest the 2005 MotoGP World Championship in a private test at the Valencia circuit in Spain last week.

Riding alongside new team-mate Valentino Rossi and factory test rider Wataru Yoshikawa, who both spent much of the test with the first prototype of Yamaha's latest-spec 2005 machine, Edwards clocked up 108 laps over the two-day test and set a fastest unofficial lap time of 1'33.9.

Riding the Honda RC211V in the Gran Premio Marlboro de la Comunitat Valenciana just a few days before, Edwards had set a best time of 1'33.438 in qualifying and 1'34.590 in the race, when he finished in eighth place.
