Gadea and Faubel to contest final two rounds of CEV

Sergio Gadea and Héctor Faubel will take part in the final two rounds of the 125cc Spanish Championship (CEV) with Team Master Repsol Aspar at Valencia and Jerez on the 14th and 21st November respectively.

Gadea finished runner-up in the series last season and returns to his home track at Valencia on top confidence, having finished fifth there in the final Grand Prix of the season just under two weeks ago. Gadea will be riding with Team Master Repsol Aspar in the 125cc World Championship on an official Aprilia next season and sees these two races as the perfect way to start his preseason preparations.

"For me this is like a test but also a measure of how far I have come in the last year and how much my riding has developed after some good results in the World Championship this season," commented the 19 year old.

"Racing at Jerez will be a good chance to get the Grand Prix there out of my system because I was very hopeful of a good result but it rained and the race didn't go well for me."

Faubel returns to 125cc racing after three seasons in the 250cc World Championship and says he is looking forward to being competitive once again.

"I'm really looking forward to racing in 125cc again – it's a very open category and the racing is always very close, with a lot of quality riders," said Faubel, who recently completed 45 laps of the Ricardo Tormo circuit on the 125cc machine with a best lap of 1'43.00.

"At the beginning (of the test) I noticed a big difference because the bike is so much smaller and the engine is less powerful than the 250 I have been riding for the last three seasons. But within a short space of time and with a few adjustments I got a good feeling with the bike and was able to lap comfortably."
