Vermeulen to test RC211V at Jerez

Honda prodigy Chris Vermeulen will get his chance to test the factory's MotoGP prototype at Jerez later this month after initially missing his original slot alongside Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso at Valencia last week through injury.

The Australian youngster has been pencilled in to ride the RC211V at the Spanish track ahead of HRC tests on the 23rd November, in a clear indication that the Japanese factory are considering him for a MotoGP future when his World Superbike contract expires at the end of 2005.

"Originally I should have tested the bike last week at Valencia, but I recently had to undergo an operation on a small fracture in my wrist from a crash at Imola in the Superbike race," commented the 22 year old.

"It's getting much better, but it will take a bit of time for me to recover. I'll be able to ride the MotoGP bike at Jerez on the 23rd, and I'm very excited about it. Next year I'll be riding in Superbike again but MotoGP is the big league and where I want to be, so I'd like to move there when possible."
