Hiroshi Aoyama undergoes arm-pump operation

Hiroshi Aoyama underwent an operation to solve an arm-pump problem on Saturday. The Japanese Telefonica Movistar Honda rider went under the knife of renowned arm and hand specialist Doctor Xavier Mir at the Institut Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona, the city which he uses as a base during the European rounds of the 250cc World Championship.

The condition is popular amongst Grand Prix riders and the likes of Aoyama's team-mate Dani Pedrosa and former 250cc rival Toni Elías both underwent similar operations this season. "The operation went well and Aoyama should be fit to resume training within four weeks," commented Doctor Mir.
