Gadea takes CEV win at Valencia

Sergio Gadea took victory in the penultimate round of the 125cc Spanish Championship (CEV) at Valencia on Sunday with an emphatic performance at his home track.

The Team Aspar rider, who had finished fifth at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in the final round of the 125cc World Championship just two weeks previously, cruised to victory by over 20 seconds from his nearest rival Julián Miralles.

Gadea started from pole position and left the rest of the pack behind from the first lap, with Miralles battling it out with Federico Sandi for second place. KTM prodigy Michael Ranseder, of Austria, was in impressive form as he won an intense scrap for fourth with home riders Manuel Hernández and Hector Faubel.

Second place for Miralles means that he now leads the championship by four points from Hernández with one round remaining at Jerez next weekend.
