Jenkner gets golden treatment from ADAC

Steve Jenkner has been awarded a prestigious gold medal by German motorsport authority ADAC. The medal is the highest award given by ADAC to active sportsmen, with 125cc star Jenkner leading a list of thirteen new winners.

The medal is awarded on a points basis, with points earned in national or international events. The points given per race depends on the quality of the event and the number of participants, and with Jenkner adding to his podium tally in the 125cc World Championship in 2004 he surpassed the 1,000 point mark required for the gold medal.

Other famous winners of the ADAC gold medal include Rudolf Carracciola, Ernst Henne, Schorsch Meier, Toni Mang, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Walter Röhrl.
