Checa happy with Bridgestone debut

Carlos Checa's impressive start to life with the Ducati was one of the main talking points at Jerez this week, with the Spanish rider adapting swiftly to the Desmosedici and the Bridgestone tyres.

The Italian factory team packed up on Thursday with Checa having set the benchmark time of the week, a stunning lap of 1'40.065 smashing Valentino Rossi's lap record by almost two seconds. Checa admitted it is early days and there is a lot of work still to be done before the start of the MotoGP World Championship, but looked forward to the new challenge with optimism.
