Arnaud Vincent joins Fantic Motor

Arnaud Vincent has signed a two-year deal with Fantic Motor, the Italian manufacturer who recently announced its plan to compete in next year's 250cc World Championship and is currently developing a bike with Modena-based design firm CRP.

"Fantic Motor contacted me at Estoril through Franco Moro, the team Technical Director," explained Vincent. "Back then, he explained their plan - it's a new project and they are starting from scratch.

"I believe it's an interesting opportunity so we agreed to work together for the next two seasons."

A popular off-road constructor in the 70's, the Fantic brand was brought back to life in 2003 by Italian investor Federico Fregnan. "From a technical point of view, there's nothing above the World Championship, so it's a good showcase for Fantic," added Vincent.

Spearheading the new team effort alongside Italian youngster Gabriele Ferro, the former 125 World Champion knows a demanding yet exciting challenge lies ahead of him.

"Working on a new bike is a great challenge, and Fantic's approach is interesting. I will visit their factory very soon and I will meet a brand new team. I will bring them my experience and riding skills and together we'll do our best to be successful."

"The bike should be ready by mid-January, so for now I can enjoy the break and I will go on holiday with my girlfriend, but I keep riding to stay in good shape."

*The Fantic Motor entry in the 250cc World Championship is subject to approval by the Grand Prix Selection Committee.
