Grand Prix legends to race Super Karts at Laguna Seca

Some of the most famous names in the history of MotoGP will be back in race action when the series returns to the USA in 2005. As well as a round of the AMA Superbike Championship, the Red Bull US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca on July 8-10 will also feature a World Super Karts race, including legends of the two-wheeled world.

Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson, Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola will all take part in a "Super Stars of Super Karts" event, with a practice session and Media Day set to take place on Wednesday, January 12. The Super Kart event will be run on Saturday, July 9.

"World Super Karts have been immensely popular as they have competed at several of our events over the past couple of years," said Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager of the Laguna Seca circuit.

"To have them join the MotoGP line-up only enhances an already incredible weekend. The entry list includes a number of European and Australia/New Zealand champions, as well as former World Grand Prix and AMA motorcycle champs."
