Children's hospital visit for motorsport stars

Various names from the motorsport world, with MotoGP rider Rubén Xaus among them, yesterday passed a few unforgettable hours with the junior inpatients of the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu in Barcelona.

The Fortuna Yamaha Tech3 representative together with 125cc GP campaigner Aleix Espargaró and other sporting idols such as double Rallying Champ Carlos Sainz and Ferrari F1 test driver Marc Gené, took part alongside the little ones in the inaugural slot car race `Campeonato Benéfico de Slot y Pilotos´.

On this occasion they were not fighting for a Championship or going for a podium but rather spending a good time with more than thirty children between seven and sixteen years of age. One of the more emotional ‘races' of the year took place on a toy track with the same layout as the Circuit de Catalunya.

Once the competition and prize-giving was completed, the riders visited the different floors of the hospital, handing out gifts and being photographed with the kids who were ecstatic to be receiving their sporting heroes.
