Daijiro Cup finishes after a successful second season

The 2004 Pocketbike Daijiro Cup finished its second campaign last Sunday after the last of the six races took place at the Akigase circuit, a venue where the late Daijiro Kato claimed victory in his infancy. 11 year old Tetsu Nakajima was triumphant overall in the Open 30/40 category onboard a Honda NSR Mini. Takeshi Isizuka, only nine years, secured the title in the Normal class.

The competition, born out of the wish of the deceased rider to the promote the sport in his country among the young, witnessed 45 participants contesting the six rounds on the calendar that began last February.

Next year all the entrants will use Superminibikes ‘74 Daijiro', that were unveiled last September at the the Camel Grand Prix of Japan.
