Early presents for Hayden and Dovizioso

Christmas came early for Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso in Japan, where they were showered with gifts from fans at a week of HRC functions at Motegi. Repsol Honda star Hayden is now back home for a brief holiday period before testing resumes on the 22nd January in Malaysia and says he is already looking forward to starting his preparations for the 2005 season.

"Firstly I must thank all my Japanese fans for the many gifts they hooked me up with and for treating me so well," said Hayden on his personal website. "It was a short trip but very busy, mostly filled with autographs and press events and they threw down a fan party.

"I spent a lot of time hanging out with Andrea Dovizioso. He speaks a bit of English and we had a few good laughs telling some stories! Then we got a cab driver who couldn't drive a stake in the ground, the dude was going so slow he took about three and a half hours to get to the airport when it should have taken no more than two and a half. I think we even got passed by a scooter!

"Anyhow, I made it back to spend Christmas with my family and hang out at home in Kentucky for a while. It's nice to be back but I'm already looking forward to getting back on the bike at Sepang at the end of January."
