Sachsenring tickets selling at record pace

Officials at the Sachsenring circuit have reported unprecedented early interest in MotoGP tickets sales for the Grand Prix on the 31st July. With over 100,000 tickets already sold for the German event, current sales are way above those of any previous season and the weekend attendance looks certain to break last season's record of 207,745.

That colossal attendance at the Veltins Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland was one of the highest weekend crowds for any Grand Prix during the 2004 season, second only to Valencia with a total of 211,468, and forced the Sachsenring organisers to erect temporary grandstands to cope with the demand.

Now it seems similar action will have to be taken in 2005, with nine of the sixteen permanent grandstands either completely sold-out or with only a handful of available seats remaining.
