Pablo Nieto quickly established his authority as the highest-ranked rider in the 125cc World Championship with the quickest time on the first day of tests at Jerez on Monday. Nieto, who returns to Derbi this season alongside fellow Spaniard Nico Terol, clocked a best lap time of 1'49.711 to easily hold off the challenge of former Aspar Aprilia team-mate Sergio Gadea.
