Manuel Poggiali had an unhappy return to track action as he crashed out of the second day of 125cc tests at Jerez on Tuesday.

The former World Champion had missed the first day through illness and was one of several riders to be caught out by cool track conditions, with Lucas Pesek, Simone Giorgi, Raffael de Rosa, Leonardo Biliotti and Héctor Faubel, who was taken to hospital complaining of severe pain to his coccyx, also crashing.

The fastest time was once again set by Derbi rider Pablo Nieto, who was marginally quicker than Aprilia rival Mattia Pasini with a lap of 1'49.515.
