British Superbike series gets new title sponsor

Bennetts Insurance Services, the UK's number one motorcycle insurance provider, has announced a major deal to be the title sponsor of the British Superbike Championship for 2005.

Former British and World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson unveiled the "Best of British" sponsorship deal in Trafalgar Square, London earlier this week.

"Bennetts has a proven track record in supporting the motorcycling industry and I am confident that everyone involved in the British Superbike Championship will benefit greatly from the partnership," said Hodgson, who will this season contest the AMA Superbike series after a disappointing year in MotoGP.

Matthew Gledhill, Managing Director of Bennetts, said: "We are delighted to be title sponsors of the British Superbike Championship. The Championship has a great future and we are proud to be sponsoring such an exciting series. The association with British Superbikes enables us to continue our support of the industry."

"We will be investing substantial time and money in our sponsorship and working with the organisers, media and fans to make it a successful relationship."

Tony Partis, Managing Director of series promoter Dorna UK, comments, "The championship will benefit greatly from Bennetts' involvement. A reputable and fast moving company, Bennetts has been very active in motorcycle sport, sponsoring high profile riders and individual British Superbike rounds.

"I am confident that Bennetts will be a successful sponsor and look forward to their involvement this year and in future Championships."

The 2005 Bennetts British Superbike Championship will take place over 13 Rounds between March and October, beginning and ending at Brands Hatch.
