D'Antin Ducati ready for first test at Sepang

The D'Antín Ducati MotoGP team begin their testing programme for the 2005 MotoGP World Championship at Sepang this week with their first session of the year.

Team Manager Luís D'Antín is already out in Malaysia making final preparations for the test, when former 250cc rider Roberto Rolfo will complete his first laps on the Ducati Desmosedici.

"For us this test is a chance to get the team moving, Roby's first chance to test the bike and also our first test with Dunlop tyres," said the Spanish former rider, who also revealed that Rolfo will be running in a one-rider team.

"Roby is looking forward to getting on the bike and everybody in the team is aware that we have a lot of work ahead of us. We'll be using the Desmosedici GP3 machine because the GP4s are still being used by Ducati Marlboro.

"We'll get them at the Official MotoGP tests, but that's not important at the moment because it's just a case of getting some laps in, allowing Roby to adapt to the bike and gathering as much information as possible for the Dunlop technicians."

D'Antín Ducati will not travel with the other MotoGP teams to Phillip Island after this weekend's test in Malaysia but have planned a further session in Qatar at the start of March.
