Porto back on the pace at Valencia

Sebastián Porto continued his impressive preseason with the fastest time on the first day of 250cc tests at Valencia on Wednesday.

Despite rainfall in the early hours of the morning, which created damp conditions for the riders during the first part of the day, Porto set a best lap of 1'36.461 in the afternoon, almost a tenth quicker than the time which put him second on the grid for the Grand Prix here last October.

Randy de Puniet was second fastest behind his new Team Aspar team-mate, whilst fellow Aprilia rider Casey Stoner again impressed with the third fastest time.

125cc World Champion Andrea Dovizioso continued his quarter-litre education on the Honda alongside factory colleagues and fellow rookies Yuki Takahashi, Héctor Barberá and Jorge Lorenzo, with Dani Pedrosa and Hiroshi Aoyama not involved in this test.
