250 and 125 teams test in Barcelona

Several 250 and 125 teams continued their preseason testing programmes on Monday at the Catalunya circuit in Spain, although a damp track and icy cold winds meant they were unable to lap until lunchtime and left them with plenty of work still to do on the second day.

Official Aprilia riders Alex de Angelis and Simone Corsi were joined on track by factory colleague Randy de Puniet, with the Frenchman's team-mate Sebastián Porto having returned home to Argentina after successful tests at Jerez and Valencia, and Aprilia privateer Andrea Ballerini, who has been signed by the Abruzzo team in place of Stefano Perugini.

Dirk Heidolf was the only other quarter-litre representative, sharing the Castrol Honda Kiefer Racing garage with his 125cc team-mate Sandro Cortese.

Also present from the 125cc class were the full Red Bull KTM line-up, with Julián Simón linking up with Mika Kallio and Gabor Talmacsi for the first time this year after missing their Valencia test earlier this month with a broken collarbone, Team Angaia riders Federico Sandi and Toshihisa Kuzuhara, Ballerini's team-mate Andrea Iannone, and Semprucci pair Dario Giusepetti and Karel Abraham.
