Testing continues at Jerez

The MotoGP and 125 teams were greeted by better weather for the second day of testing at Jerez. Despite cold track temperatures and reduced grip due to dirt on the back track of the circuit, most of the riders were able to improve their lap times.

In the MotoGP class, Alex Hofmann set the pace with a fastest lap in 1'42.471, in front of his Kawasaki team-mate Shinya Nakano. The previous day, the japanese suffered a cut after colliding with the fuel tank of his Ninja ZX-RR under heavy braking. In doubt for the second day of testing, he eventually resumed his work on the new big bang engine. Vittoriano Guareschi, test rider for Ducati, also continued testing and was third fastest in front of Kazuki Shimizu, his counterpart at Kawasaki.

In the 125 class, Fabrizio Lai was once again the fastest, in front of Imre Toth and Alvaro Bautista. The 250 Honda BQR also joined the action with Alex Debon and Radomil Rous.
