Caja Madrid Derbi Racing Team presented in Barcelona

The Caja Madrid Derbi Racing Team kicked-off its 2005 season by revealing a new line up on Wednesday in Barcelona. This year, Derbi returnee Pablo Nieto will pair up with Spanish youngster Nico Terol, in a bid to clinch a new title for the ‘red bullets'.

General Manager Giampiero Sacchi revealed his confidence in his new riders during an event also attended by Caja Madrid executive Juan Astorqui and Francesco Mercanti, CEO of Derbi.

"We have a huge potential and we have great expectations for this season," said Sacchi. "We know that our rivals have the same goal, but we believe in our possibilities and we will do our best to be the best at every track and in any circumstances."

Both Pablo Nieto and Nico Terol agreed on the fact they are given a unique opportunity.

"I think you don't get this kind of chance every day," commented Nieto. "I get a great support from the team and I'm more than confident in my possibilities. We are doing a good pre-season work and definitely improving. When the team and the rider give their best, I'm sure we can win. I can't wait for the start of the season at Jerez!"

16 year-old rookie Nico Terol added: "To join Derbi is a dream for a young rider like me. I will have to respond with dedication and hard work. I sure have a lot to learn, there are some track I only saw on the PlayStation, but achieving great things with a ‘red bullet' is one of my dreams."
