Lorenzo and Barbera happy with the new Honda

Jorge Lorenzo and Hector Barberá concluded a two-day test session at Valencia, where they had their first ride with the 2005 version of the Honda RSW. The two Spaniards, who are still getting used to the quarter litre class, reported positive impressions about the new bike.

Lorenzo completed 146 laps of the Spanish circuit over the two days with a best time of 1'36.0, once again demonstrating his rapid adaptation to the category.

"We lost a bit of time today working on the set-up because the bike is completely new for me but that is normal because we need to adapt to the new version," explained Lorenzo. "The job we've done on the set-up of the bike meant that I wasn't able to go for a fast lap until the end of the session. We will have to continue developing the bike at the IRTA tests at Montmeló and continue with our process of adaptation" His team-mate Barberá also worked hard over the two days, completing 150 laps and lowering his best time to 1'36.3.

"I'm very happy with the job the whole team has done over the last two days of tests," commented Barberá. "We still have to adapt to the new version of the Honda RSW 250 but I think that we're working in the right way and the lap times are showing that. We've improved the stability of the bike and that has given me a lot more confidence. We've still got a lot of work to do but I'm going home feeling very satisfied."
