Pasini happy after promising shakedown

Totti Top Sport – 3C Racing riders Mattia Pasini and Manuel Hernández were testing on Saturday at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, in Valencia. The team scheduled this test as a simple shakedown of the new Aprilia, before joining the rest of the 125 field at Catalunya for the Official Test starting on Tuesday.

Despite poor weather, Pasini improved his best lap time at Valencia by almost half a second. The Italian youngster completed 42 laps with a best lap of 1'40.4, and was surprised by the agility of his new machinery.
"We came here in Valencia just to check the bike before the Official Test. We never pushed for fast laps and I was quite surprised to be that quick. It's very satisfying," commented Pasini, best rookie of the class in 2004.

Teammate Manuel Hernández suffered a crash in the morning and thankfully emerged unscathed, but the incident cost him precious time as his team had to repair his bike.
"It's a shame I crashed this morning, because I lost most of the day and I couldn't lap as I much as I wanted," said the Spaniard, who clocked 31 laps. "I still haven't the right feeling with the front end of the 2005 chassis, but I'm sure it will get better when we test at Barcelona."

The team backed by football star Francesco Totti and managed by Christian Lundberg and Valerio Sbarra also announced Daniel Sáez as their 125 Spanish Championship entry.
