Davies lands new sponsor

Chaz Davies has been nicked for a new sponsorship deal as he embarks on a crucial season in the 250 World Championship. The 18-year-old Herefordshire rider will receive three pounds from every BikerPlan insurance policy sold.

For just over fifty pounds bikers can insure themselves against being banned from riding if they lose their licence because of speeding offences captured by speed cameras. The policy will provide riders six thousand pounds to pay for alternative transport while they are banned. Already 6000 bikers have signed-up.

"We are using the new policies to raise funds for Chaz Davies and it seemed appropriate to put some money back into a good cause," explained Stuart Allen from BikerPlan. "I can't think of a better cause in biking than young Chaz. The kid has real world class potential and needs the financial support to help him compete. So three pounds from every policy sold will be going to him."

Davies, riding the Aprilia Germany machine, has been very impressive in pre-season testing and will be looking to start the season the way he finished last year. He finished sixth and fifth respectively in the final two Grands Prix in Australia and Valencia. He will start testing in Barcelona this week on Wednesday afternoon.
