Campetella Racing announces 2005 plans

The Campetella Racing team official presentation took place yesterday in Montecassiano, Italy. Alex Baldolini was the only rider of the Italian outfit present at the event as Taro Sekiguchi just flew back to Japan after suffering serious injuries in the last test of the pre-season.

Team owner Carlo Campetella commented the team's plans for 2005 and also explained why the team couldn't obtain factory machinery as expected.
"Unfortunately, partly due to the current negative economic trend, we haven't been able to find the necessary budget to obtain a factory bike – however, this remains our main aim for next season," said Mr Campetella.

He also wished Sekiguchi a quick recovery and explained that several candidates are now being considered to step in for the Japanese during the first four rounds.

Pleased to have joined the Italian team, Alex Baldolini said : "During the first tests, I've personally experienced the professionalism of the team – I believe it's one of the best privateer teams, it's possibly better than some factory outfits."

"I'm very sorry about what happenend to Taro, I hope he will be back with us very soon," added the Italian.
