Dovizioso enjoys four-wheel experience

On Wednesday afternoon, while several MotoGP riders were showing off their racing bikes in the streets of Estoril, 125 World Champion Andrea Dovizioso went to the ‘Kartódromo Internacional de Palmela'.

The Italian rider accepted the invitation of César Campaniço, the only Portuguese driver to clinch an international karting title: the 1998 European crown.

"I love karting, but I never had the opportunity to drive a kart as powerful as this one!" said Dovizioso about the 35 bhp 100cc machine he drove. The Italian demonstrated his pace on four wheels and completed 20 laps.

This weekend, the Team Scot Honda rider will be supported by César Campaniço during the betandwin.com Grande Prémio de Portugal.
"I'm sure Dovizioso can manage a good result, even if it's only his second race in the 250cc class," said Campaniço. "For sure, Dovi has a natural talent for the bikes, but also for karting, as shown by the lap times he posted today."
