Jenkner hopeful for Shanghai race

Jenkner hopeful for Shanghai race German rider Steve Jenkner has arrived in China for the next instalment of the 250 World Championship after missing the Portuguese GP through injury due to a crash in the first practice session at Estoril in which he fractured his right hand.

The Nocable.it Race team rider hopes to participate in this weekend´s big event, which will see the first ever MotoGP Championship take place on the new Shanghai circuit. Team manager Fiorenzo Caponera was optimistic that the German will be fit to race on Sunday.

"I think he will be able to race, even if we still have to see how he feels on the bike. Once Jenkner will have done a few laps, we will be able to confirm his participation, it will be a first test, but I believe he will be racing on Sunday," said the Italian.

"Before travelling to China, he underwent a medical and he seemed to be recovering well, so it should be ok," he added.
