Europe will rise early to enjoy MotoGP

European MotoGP fans will have to get out of bed early this weekend if they want to catch the third round of the 2005 MotoGP World Championship in Shanghai, China. Unlike the hosts of the season's previous two races, Spain and Portugal, China has a significant time difference from Continental Europe.

China is six hours ahead of Continental Europe; which means that in order to watch the first practice sessions on Friday and Saturday at 09:00 local time, fans will need to be up at a staggering 03:00.

The time schedule will remain fixed for the two days of practice session. The Qualifying Practice sessions will take place in the afternoon from 13:15 onwards (local time) meaning they will kick-off 07:15 Continental European Time. The one and only MotoGP Qualifying Practice will kick-off at 14:00 local time.

The big-day races on Sunday will start one hour later than usual to mitigate the international tiredness epidemic caused by the vast time difference. After the warm-up sessions, 125cc will begin at 12 (06:00 CET), 250cc at 13,15 (07:15 CET) and MotoGP at 15,00 (09:00 CET).
