Kallio takes his second pole of the season

Mika Kallio will start tomorrow's 125cc Chinese GP tomorrow in pole position after setting the fastest lap of the qualifying practice sessions.

The Finnish Red Bull KTM rider clocked an impressive lap time off 2´13.535, more than 13 seconds better than he did yesterday, to take the pole for the second time in a row.

"I hope this dry weather continues because I have very good speed in these conditions. I did many laps on the harder compound tyre to be ready fro the race and then switched to a softer tyre late in the session. The bike has been very good all weekend, I have changed very little on the set-up and the engine is fast. Pole position is nice but now I have to concentrate on the race," said Kallio.

Kallio – who finished second at Jerez and won at Estoril to mark his first ever GP win – finished ahead of Italian Race rider Marco Simoncelli, who lapped second fastest in 2´13.631.

Kallio´s team-mate Gabor Talmacsi will start off in third position tomorrow after lapping in 2´14.293. Elit Gran Prix rider Thomas Luthi will start tomorrow in fourth and Julian Simon, Kallio´s other tea-mate will start in fifth – meaning there will be three KTMs in the top five, as the Austrian manufacture maintains a strong presence this season.

Behind Julain Simon, Fabrizio Lai with start off second place in the second row tomorrow, just edging ahead of Czech Metis Racing Team rider Lukas Pesek, who will start in seventh place.

The top ten will be completed by Japanese rider Tomoyoshi Koyama (Ajo Motorsport), Toshishisa Kuzuhara (Angaia Racing) and Spaniard Hector Faubel (Master Aspar) respectively.
