>The first three 125 cc races of 2005 have been won by three different riders, and all three races have had one machine from Aprilia, KTM and Honda finishing on the podium.

>With Mattia Pasini, the winner in China, not starting the race in France, the record sequence of forty-two races without a rider in the 125cc class winning back-to-back races will be extended. The last rider to win back-to-back races in the 125cc class was Arnaud Vincent, who won at Donington and then Sachsenring in 2002.

>Thomas Luthi starts from pole for the first time in his Grand Prix career in his 39th GP start. Luthi is the only rider in the 125cc class to have qualified on the front row at all of the first four races of the year.
