Carchano desperate to recover in time for Mugello

Jordi Carchano underwent surgery on his left hand earlier this week to repair a lesion in his left hand. The 125cc MVA Aspar rider sustained the injury when he fell in the second half of the French GP and, with natural reflexes taking over, tried to break his fall with his left hand.

The incident led to a multiple crash, with several riders accompanying Carchano on the ground.

I was pushing strong and suddenly I came off the bike, explained Carchano. It was my natural instinct to try and break my fall, but instead of breaking my fall I ended up injuring my hand. I dont understand how the other riders could not avoid me there was plenty of room to pass.

After the incident I am a little bit nervous about how I will perform in the next race, in Italy, because I want to do well. The injury only affects my left hand and, therefore, it will not prevent me from using the clutch. It would be a lot more serious if I had injured my right hand. I really want to race at Mugello.

Currently in 24th position in the World Championship with only three points, the Spaniard is far from satisfied with his start to the season. I must admit that so far I have not achieved the objectives I set myself at the beginning of the season. I had expected to be up there with the top ten or twelve riders. I will continue to work on it and I will get there soon.
