Crivillé to make his rally debut

Álex Crivillé will make his rally debut this weekend in the second leg of the Spanish Rally Championship, the Rally de Cáceres.

The former 500cc World Champion will make his late entry in the hope of going on to complete all seven remaining races.

"It's been many years since I've been involved in rally racing. In 1989 I had a brief experience but this is more serious and we want to go on to complete all the Championship races," said Crivillé.

"The car that Calm has prepared for me is a Group N car, a Mitsubishi Evo VII, but it has a Evo III engine – a good way to start."

The Spaniard has a very clear objective this weekend: "My intention is to take control of the car and have fun; also to get a sense of the competition. This weekend my objective is clear, to enjoy myself and finish the race."
