Marchand to continue as substitute for injured Sekiguchi

Having suffered multiple fractures during the Official Jerez Winter Test, Taro Sekiguchi is still not fully fit. The Campetella Racing rider has already missed the first four rounds of the 250 World Championship and will also be sidelined for the two upcoming races, held back-to-back at Mugello and Catalunya.

A spokesperson for the Italian team confirmed that Marchand will stand in for the Japanese rider again for the Italian GP. Sekiguchi is aiming to come back for the Gauloises TT Assen, which will be held on the famous Dutch track on June 25th.

Marchand is now sure to race at Mugello, but still has to gather the budget required for Catalunya.
"I'm happy to have another opportunity to continue with the Campetella Racing team, but it's shame that Taro hasn't fully recovered yet," commented Marchand.

"I will be back on track at Mugello, but I still have to find the funds to race in Catalunya. I'm lucky because we have a two-week break between le Mans and Mugello, so it gives me time to sort it out, also to nurse my injuries," added Marchand, who had missed his home race one week ago after suffering a crash in qualifying and injuring his right hand.
