Checa visits Romania

Ducati Marlboro rider Carlos Checa visited Romania last weekend with team mate Loris Capirossi for various promotional events. Enjoying a two-week break before Ducati's home round at the Mugello, Checa was delighted by his stay in Bucharest.

"I spent last weekend in Romania taking part in several different activities organised by Marlboro in the capital city of Bucharest," explained Checa.

"It was a promotional event with a series of exhibitions in front of about a thousand fans. Capirossi and myself were the guests of honour and we had a really good time."

"I was also lucky enough to get some free time, which gave me the chance to take a quick look at the city and I liked it a lot. In general it was nice to go on a trip without the pressure of racing and the strict timetable of a Grand Prix."

"The Prime Minister of Romania, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, came to see us and we spoke with him about bikes, his country and his job. Now I'm back in London and continuing with my daily training programme with my mind already focused on Mugello. It's Ducati's home race so I hope we get a bit of luck and are able to provide a top result to all the Ducati fans."
