The Ducati Cowboys mosey on down to Mugello

The Ducati Marlboro team went bull crazy yesterday and seized the final opportunity to indulge some pre-GP hijinks with a wild west evening of rodeo bull riding, barbecue and music.

Easing into the GP weekend, the Ducati squad set up the wild west camp, mechanical bull and all, just in front of their Italian factory hospitality before inviting all to ‘mosey on down' to join in on the escapades.

Unable to resist the temptation of ‘riding the beast', many members of the MotoGP paddock showed up for the event. Some of the best known faces included 125cc rider Fabrizio Lai and, of course, both Ducati riders Loris Capirossi and Carlos Checa, who proudly wears the symbol of the bull on his riding gear. The symbol of the bull is said to represent courage and strength of character.

The Ducati team arrived in Mugello this weekend determined to strike back at the bad luck they experienced during the early part of the season. At a pre-event press conference yesterday, Capirossi confirmed that he has fully recovered from his injury and is fighting fit for race day; while Checa re-affirmed his resolve to leave Mugello with a good result.
