Ducati test new components before Catalunya

Even after their strong showing in the Italian Grand Prix, it was back to business as usual for the Ducati MotoGP Team on Monday as they remained at Mugello for a full day of testing.

Just one day after Loris Capirossi secured the team's first podium of 2005 and Carlos Checa equalled his season's best fifth place from Estoril, the team ran through a number of important tests before they move on to the next race this coming weekend in Barcelona, Spain.

Allowed, at least, a morning off while the Mugello circuit surface was cleaned following Sunday's Grand Prix, the riders tested new electronic and mechanical components intended to continue the improvement of the Desmosedici GP5's rideability. Both riders made improvements upon their race day set-ups and declared the test a success. The team will now analyse the accumulated data before introducing the new components.

The gruelling back-to-back race schedule now sees the Ducati MotoGP Team trucks leave directly for Barcelona ready to set up for the start of free practice Friday morning.
