MotoGP Academy riders continue their apprenticeship in Valencia

The MotoGP Academy riders were back on track last weekend for the second round of the Buckler Spanish Road Racing Championship, held on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

German youngster Joshua Sommer and Spanish team-mate Efrén Vázquez both finished in the top 10, taking fifth and sixth respectively in a race won by Mateo Tunez. After this second race, Vázquez holds fourth overall with 19 points, while Sommer is tenth with 11 points.

The other riders of the MotoGP Academy had mixed fortunes, with Bradley Smith and Mike Minnerop taking 11th and 12th, while Ion Garrido missed the points with 17th. British youngster Daniel Webb failed to complete the race.

The MotoGP Academy is a new project aiming to train riders from different nationalities so that they can participate in MotoGP in the near future.
