MotoGP riders take in Amsterdam

Before heading to the north of the Netherlands for this weekend's Gauloises TT Assen, several MotoGP stars enjoyed a canal boat tour in Amsterdam on Tuesday afternoon.

MotoGP riders Nicky Hayden, Marco Melandri, Alex Hofmann were pleased to discover the Dutch capital city from the water, Amsterdam being touted as the ‘Venice of the North' for its impressive number of canals. The city has over 1200 bridges and 100km of canals.

After this sightseeing trip – with 125 rider Raymond Schouten as a guide – the three riders are set for the seventh round of the MotoGP World Championship at Assen, which will start on Thursday with the free practice sessions, as the race is traditionally held on the last Saturday of June.
