Ant West will make his second GP appearance of the season at Assen this weekend with a one-off stint riding for Wurth Honda BQR. The Aussie rider has been seizing every opportunity to rack up race hours before his KTM debut, now planned for late July at Donington.

The KTM 250 is nearing completion and the Austrian manufacturer confirmed that they will be able to enter the next round of the 250cc World Championship in one month's time.

"I rode an Aprilia last time and I'll be on a Honda this weekend; so it will be good for when I get to ride the KTM, as I will be able to compare all the bikes together and see what the good and bad points of the KTM are," commented West. "The new KTM should be ready pretty soon and we will have the opportunity to test shortly."

KTM entered Grand Prix racing in 2003 with the Red Bull KTM 125 outfit, which has appeared as a leading force this year. In addition to their 125 and 250 efforts, KTM is also involved in MotoGP, supplying a 990cc V4 to Team Roberts.
