Repsol signs two-year deal with HRC

Repsol YPF and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) have reached an agreement to continue their alliance in MotoGP for the next two years. After several months of arduous meetings to define the future working plans and the details of the agreement, the parties finally reached a satisfactory agreement and ratified it this weekend at the "Cathedral of Motorcycling", the TT Circuit Assen.

HRC and Repsol YPF have a long and successful history together which includes 8 Riders' World Championship titles, 2 as a team, 90 victories in the premier class and 130 podium finishes.

Mr. Satoru Horiike, HRC Managing Director: "Repsol Honda is an established brand and we are very happy to be able to continue the growth of this image in the world of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. After 11 years with Repsol, HRC is very pleased to continue the relationship with a new agreement from the 2006 season. The Repsol Honda Team has enjoyed record-breaking success in the past 11 years and it is our intention to continue this."

Mr. Jaume Giró, Repsol YPF General Manager for Communication: "Being able to finally announce that HRC and Repsol YPF are going to be together in the next years is a satisfaction for us and the culmination of several months of intensive work in a joint project for the future, outlining the foundations of this agreement. Hopefully, with situations like that we can see that still the money is not the most important thing when we are talking about one project, one main goal and the attitude to get that."

"Working with HRC is something that we've been doing now for more than ten years, and I just need to refer to the success achieved together to make an assessment of our collaboration. Our vision for the future and the determination of both companies to improve and be always one step ahead of our competitors has taken us to reach this collaboration agreement to start a new stage of professional success."
