Yamaha prepare for an important weekend in the US

Yamaha travel to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix with the aim of celebrating their 50th anniversary with yet another victory for the tuning fork brand. Yamaha Factory Racing Managing Director, Lin Jarvis, is hopeful that things will continue to go well for the team in the United States.

It has been an incredible season so far, with Valentino Rossi on top and leading the World Championship with six wins out of seven – the last five of them consecutively. For his team-mate, ‘Texas Tornado' Colin Edwards, the U.S. Grand Prix will be an excellent opportunity to get his third podium of the season, and maybe even a first MotoGP win.

"It's great to go back to the United States, which is really good. It's in California which is the home of Yamaha in the USA," said Jarvis. "We have a headquarters there and it's also our birthday, our 50th year birthday event and I should say watch us there, you will see something special and we are going to make it a great weekend."

"Colin of course being American it's great for him to be there on home turf so I think Laguna is a fantastic place to be. I think, hopefully, the safety improvements will be great and have brought the track up to standard. It should be a wonderful event. We are really looking forward, the whole team is really pumped to go there."

"Right now Valentino has a very good lead. I think right now must be up 63 points, which is two and a half races in hand. I think what's important for the sport is that every race is exciting. So ok, he is winning a lot which is fantastic for us but I think it's still good for the sport because each race is really exciting."
