Schwantz on US GP return

Last weekend, the Red Bull US Grand Prix marked the long-awaited comeback of the MotoGP World Championship to the United States. Many American stars were at Laguna Seca for this historic event, including former World Champion Kevin Schwantz.

"I think it's a great thing to have MotoGP back in the United States. You could see by the excitement just on the first day, by the number of people !" said Schwantz, who headlined the Superstars of Superkarts race alongside Eddie Lawson.

"I think the American public is really going to support this event. It's great to see the likes of Rossi, Gibernau and Melandri, and all four American riders. MotoGP is really the best of motorcycle racing."

On Sunday, Hayden won the 32-laps race in front of a 57,932 sell-out crowd. According to Schwantz, Laguna Seca proved it deserved its spot on the MotoGP calendar, and he also reflected positively on the track improvements.
